If you’re like most homeowners, custom renovation is the stuff of daydreams. Whether you’ve been watching This Old House for years or have always wanted a particular feature or look to your home, it can be hard to find a competent builder who will give your home a unique look, preserve its character, and otherwise meet all the needs of your project and design. Most builders focus on new construction, and many remodelers similarly strip the history and interest from a building when they bring it up to date.

Not all projects look the same when you work with a builder with a broad experience base. I can take on owner-designed projects that make your home more your own. I love to help my clients solve problems with efficient built-in storage solutions, finish unfinished sections of the house, or add new functionality to an unused room. Some of my proudest moments have been creating creative solutions to make unique projects work perfectly and improve my clients’ lives.

A common project to make an older house into a better home is turning an existing space that is either unused or unfinished into a utility room for laundry, storage, and other practical needs. In newer construction, turning an unused bedroom into a specialized room for storage can make a huge difference. Custom building projects allow for the total transformation of a space with new or different wall configurations, shelves, lighting or wiring, a new window, or just about anything else you can think of.

And don’t forget the most underutilized home assets are attics and basements. Finishing an attic or basement can turn inefficiently used space into an organized dry clean storage space, an extra bedroom, a yoga studio, a home office, a workshop, a library, a family room, or whatever you want.

 Outside the Building

While much of my work occurs inside the home, I’m not afraid to get my hands dirty with work outside the home. From light landscaping to creating walkways that make your property more functional and beautiful, I offer all the skills and experience you need to make your landscape or hardscape project successful and transform how others see your property.

Other outside building projects include replacing siding or roofing and installing solar panel systems. You can add practical, monetary, and aesthetic value to your home that will last for years or generations with an investment in an exterior project today.

Inside The Building

Most of my work occurs inside the home. I work closely with the owners to be sure I understand their vision for the result. I strive to be flexible to meet the requests and requirements of my clients. I am motivated to help you achieve and enjoy your desired outcome. More than two decades in construction have given me opportunities to learn and practice many techniques of building science in various circumstances with various constraints.

I'll be sure to bring to your attention all relevant information on how to make positive changes that will make your living space more comfortable, pleasing, and energy efficient.

The scale of the building project is insignificant; the most essential part of making a building project successful is communication.
